The name is derived from the word "smoke" or "wusu" in Bambara, a language spoken primarily in Mali, West Africa, but also spoken in parts of Senegal, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso and more. Wusulan is an individual creation by each woman who makes it, and recipes are often passed down from mother to daughter. Due to the nature of individual recipes product offerings may vary.
